Due to the growing need for affordable and accessible mental health services, Rye Youth Council RESTORE now provides short-term individual mental health therapy for children ages 5-22. Our clinicians counsel students for up to six months, often together with their parents, providing a collaborative approach to increase awareness, educate, and improve their circumstances.
RESTORE mental health providers are graduate students who are completing their degrees in social work and mental health counseling. All interns are supervised by Linda Tillmon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years clinical experience.
Approach
Rye Youth Council RESTORE provides low-to-no cost, short-term counseling (3-6 months) to youth, aged 5-22. Clinical Director,Linda Tillmon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, will supervise graduate-level, social work interns who will provide the therapy. Counseling will take place in the Rye Youth Council offices located in the Rye YMCA, walkable from the middle and high schools. Pricing will be based on a sliding scale, and families will determine their ability to pay. No one will be turned away for financial reasons.
Insurance will not be necessary or accepted.
If it is determined that a client’s particular needs require more specialized care, staff will refer families to appropriate mental health services. Referrals will also be made after the 3-6 month time frame, if ongoing care is required. Rye Youth Council will continue to offer referral services for mental health supports at no cost.

The Rye Youth Council made a tremendous impact on my daughter’s emotional, social, physical, and mental health. This was a challenging time for our family, especially considering she is a rising college freshman. With the consistent and professional support of RYC, my daughter has the tools necessary for the next chapter of her life. Thank you!
Parent
Rye Youth Council's RESTORE counseling program was a tremendous help to my children during a difficult time. The counselors were top notch, and took the time to get to know each child and what they needed. In my opinion, the counselor's went above and beyond, and we are very grateful, as my kids are doing so much better now.
